Hey, Hey! How are you this morning?? Well, I know half of you won’t see this until around 4pm when you wake ups since most of you guys are on Spring Break but don’t worry my post will be here all day! Yay!
Well, girls always ask and wonder what Eden and I are up to behind C.O.R.E and how we are rockin’ out in life . So now you get an inside scoop! Owwww!
So here’s the thing, we’re just two girls piecing together life just like you. Trust me, just because you graduate and hit your 20’s the life lessons never stop rolling.
So you ask what did I learn this week??? Oh, well I’m soooo glad you popped that question.
One lesson I learned that has stuck with me this past week is to slow it down and just be grateful. You know how your parents are always telling you to put down the cell phone, the iPod, shut the laptop or anything else with a charger?? Well they are giving great advice. Sometimes always being connected so constantly will have you miss out on beautiful moments in life! It can be as small as a sunset, a smile from a stranger or a hilarious joke from a friend. When you disconnect and chill out you realize that life isn’t bad, it’s just shifting your thoughts.
So the next week I’m going to challenge you to take aleast 15 minutes in the morning and at night (eeek! I know it’s 30 minutes of your entire day) to just sit and free your thoughts. Grab an ol’ school pen and paper and write all the the things that made your day awesome. Even if you think you had a bad day, sit and think about all the things that made you smile that day. I guarantee that you will have more positive than negative. The thing is people just dwell on the negative most of the time which just always block out the positive. Ok, ok, so here was some of my list yesterday… don’t laugh!
Thankful List
-Found a new song that I love that I played on repeat all day (you know that feeling, right??)
-Tried a new recipe and was actually successful. Heyyy!
-Received a text from a friend that had me busting out laughing in public. Don’ t you love when that happens?
-Had the best passion tea of my life. Score!
-Talked to a friend across the country to catch up and turned into a night of pure laughter. That what friends are for!
See, so they don’t have to be huge monumental changes but just anything that put a smile on your face.
Ok, now it’s your turn
I’m not sure how this song exactly fits but hey I like to play it’ in the morning! Throwback—–>Enjoy!
What’s your dream job and why?
My dream job is to become a RN (Registered Nurse). When I go into a hospital and I see the head nurse I just know that’s going to be me. Because, they are very respected. Its a job where I can help people of all ages and races. It is also a stable job. Another reason is because I wanted to work within the military.
Which hobbies do you love to enjoy?
Dancing, Cheerleading and Writing
Who is your biggest celeb crush?
Chris Brown and Taylor Lautner
Fave song to JAM out to right now?
Talk That Talk – Rihanna
If you could change one thing about the world, what would it be?
I would definitely change abuse in the world. I don’t think that anyone should go through that. No one deserves to be hit.Especially children, hurting them physically is not the answer for discipline. I really can’t explain it but if you have read the book A Child Call “It”, then you might know what I’m talking about.
What does empowerment mean to you?
Having the power to inspire others to bring people together to make a change.
What are your plans after high school?
I am going straight into college to major in Nursing.
How have you helped someone in your life lately?
Going out and giving food to people who need it more than I do.
Who is your role model & why?
My role model is Beyonce, because she had a dream to become an entertainer. So she put her mind to it and did it. Even when people told her she wasn’t good enough, she kept going. Not, only that but she does a lot of things around the world to help and empower people. She doesn’t do it for fame, she does it out of the love in her heart.

Unfortunately, another tragic and yet senseless death happened this past Wednesday in Chicago, IL. Rekia Boyd who was only 22 years old was shot by an off-duty Chicago police officer by Douglas Park.
Last Wednesday, an off-duty officer approached a crowd of individuals in his car and requested that they quiet down. One of the individuals, Anthony Cross, approached the officer. Thinking he was holding a gun, the officer open-fired, striking Cross in the hand and Rekia Boyd in the head. Rekia who was completely innocent died later that afternoon. Cross says he was holding a cell phone, not a handgun.
“There were 60-70 people in the park and no one had a gun. Everyone was just out there to hang out, that’s it,” said witness Leo Coleman on Wednesday.
A rally was held yesterday at at Douglas Park in Chicago to demand Justice for Rekia Boyd.
