MEET OUR C.O.R.E DANCE INSTRUCTORS…..

Mirica Stevens

Mirica Stevens is a 27 year old native of Montgomery, Alabama. She received her B.S. in Chemistry at Tennessee State University in 2006, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She then completed her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine in 2010 at The Ohio University College of Medicine. She has lived in Cleveland, Ohio for the past 4 years and still resides in Cleveland while completing her psychiatry residency at The Cleveland Clinic. Although Mirica is in the pursuit of a career as a community psychiatrist, she has had an undying passion for the art of dance all her life.

She studied dance throughout her adolescent years while attending middle and high schools of the performing arts. There she had a focused concentration in ballet but also received additional formal training in ballet pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, and lyrical dance. She has performed in numerous recitals throughout the Southeast with The Montgomery Ballet, Alabama Dance Theatre, and the local Academy of Dance. She also was a member of The Tennessee State University Dance Team during her undergraduate career in 2003-2005. It was then during undergraduate years she began teaching dance to young girls at a local recreation center with her sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. This is where she discovered the need of positive mentorship for today’s youth and the additional life skills that are developed
through the art of dance. Mirica has expressed her excitement that C.O.R.E. Dance Academy allows this most needed avenue for both mentorship and exposing the performing arts to today’s youth.
